The Ice Cream Diet sounds almost outrageous to a lot of people the first time they hear the name, even though it looks good on paper. The point is there appears to be some kind of hype or contradiction involved with a diet that seems to place importance on eating ice cream. That’s what the ad says – lose weight, get to your desired weight, and yes you’ll be able to eat ice cream each day. In this review, we will look at this claim and decide if there’s any truth to it. The fact is that you’re supposed to eat a daily diet that is, in effect, low in calories despite being able, and encouraged, to eat ice cream – every day. You do have a certain number of calories given to ice cream, but other than that you have to eat good quality protein plus fruits, veggies, and non-fatty meats. One advantage of this diet is that, unlike many other low calorie diets, it gives you a reward to keep you motivated. Beyond this, however, ice cream actually has some nutritional value. The dairy contains a form of protein, the milk, and of course it does have calcium in it. So it really is accurate to say you’ll gain a bit more in nutritional value from the Ice Cream Diet. There you go – the purpose of the ice cream in the Ice Cream Diet. Fruits and vegetables that are fresh plus good sources of fiber and protein is the mainstay of your diet. Ice cream comes in all kinds, and many try to be as healthy as possible. One possibility is the Italian ice cream, gelato, which will contain fewer fats and sugars than regular ice cream. We’ve seen excellent ice creams in better health food stores that do not contain all the sugar and fats like normal ice cream. Do follow the Ice Cream Diet’s recommendations, and if you get a healthier ice cream, you’ll be fine and won’t feel like you’re dieting.
Because there isn’t enough scientific evidence, no one really knows if this diet really works. This relatively new diet has quite a few people who claim that it works. Some say it is too soon to say that the Ice Cream Diet if effective. You are the only one who can say if this diet will work for you and you wont know unless you try it.
